Coatham House in the Community

We have close links with the local community, who support our work and our young people. This can be in many forms, from people dropping off supplies, and volunteering their times and skills, to supporting our café.

Reloved
All our residents are offered a free hot meal at our Reloved café each day.  This is a vital addition to the services that we offer as not only does it help them financially, it also helps their health and wellbeing.

Land Aid
We have our very own food bank thanks to the financial support that we received from Land Aid Charitable Trust. This is available to our residents and clients when they are struggling to access benefits or when they fall on hard times.

House Makeover
Talented Coatham House staff Ruth & Terry came together and created beautiful unicorn artwork. It was made for a young family living in one of our houses.
Were were able to revamp their home thanks to the funding provided by the B.O Davies Charitable Trust.
The joy on the little girl's face when she saw her unicorn was priceless!

Redcar Community Grocery Store
We have close links with the Redcar Community Grocery Store which is a lifeline to some of our residents.
We support our residents to shop and cook on a budget. Staff also offer cooking activities to show them how to prepare wholesome meals from the produce.

The Chair Barbers
Trish Cann owner of The Chair barbers in Redcar offers free haircuts to our residents and rough sleepers in Redcar & Cleveland that we also support.
We can't thank her enough for her kindness.

Fun and Fitness
Redcar Amateur Boxing Club and Coatham House work together to offer our residents training opportunities at the club, teaching fitness and discipline of the sport.  It's a great way for our young people to gain new friends by widening their social circle.

Team Building
Coatham House staff went on a team building day at a zombie survival event! We only went and won, didn't we?
