Coatham House resident, Bailey, volunteers at the Growing in Harmony site in Kirkleatham once a week.
He helps to maintain the site and grow different foods that are given away or sold to the community. Volunteering has been great for his mental health and has helped him build his confidence over the two years that he's been doing it. Bailey says "It feels great to give back to the community in a meaningful way. Volunteering with Growing in Harmony has also been a brilliant learning experience when it comes to growing, storing and even cooking food". Well done Bailey. Coatham House staff members Sharon, Zoe and Jess took ten residents out for a carvery last week which was a lovely treat for everyone. It was really nice for staff and residents to spend time together in an informal, fun way, enjoying a delicious meal together.
Work is well underway and we are all looking forward to moving into our new office on Redcar High Street in the next couple of months and it's looking great! Thanks to the Key Fund for their support. |
